Boat and canoe hire on the river Lot is about 15 minutes drive away. The local golf course is only 5 minutes drive from the house. There is also a large lake on the outskirts of Tombeboeuf, for fishing or leisurely circular walks. The area is ideal for walking, with gently rolling hills and a variety of scenery. There are several Grottos slightly further away, plus boating and canoeing on other rivers.

An absolute favorite with many visitors is the adventure parc in the trees at Gavaudin (25 min's) - this is great for everyone - it has 7 different trails through the trees at different heights and levels of difficulty. From the very simple and low down for toddlers, through to family trails and on to the black run for the truly brave. A great day out for everyone - take a picnic!

The area is steeped in history with many bastide towns within easy reach, such as Eymet, Monflanquin, Issigeac, Pujols and Penne d'Agenais. During the month of August Medieval Fairs are held at many of the Bastide towns - really bringing to life the history of the area. Also within easy reach are the chateaux of Bonaguil, Biron and Duras.

There are daily traditional markets all within easy reach - Our favorites are in Miramont on a Monday and Eymet on Thursdays -all are vibrant and bustling. Great fun for day to day shopping or just relaxing with a coffee and people watching!

One of the highlights of the summer months is the Night Market! These are held in a number of local towns and are not to be missed! With trestle tables set out under the stars, locals and tourists eat together choosing their meals from the stalls set up by local producers - you can choose your wine, starters, mains and puds all from different stalls. A must for anyone visiting the area!

locally within 20 min's drive there is a great lake with beach, children can swim in the lake and splash down using the slides. So take a drive to lougratte and find this little bit of beach in land, if you are willing to travel further you can find beautiful beaches on the atlantic coast approximately an hour and a half drive away.

Detailed directions will be sent with booking confirmation, but the house is just north of Tombeboeuf, which is between Miramont de Guyenne and Villeneuve sur Lot,in a small village Tourtres. The two nearest towns are Miramont 10km and Marmande 20km. here you can find everything you need
